Going above and beyond their job duties has earned two University of Wyoming College of Agriculture and Natural Resources employees Outstanding Staff Awards.
Mona Gupton, senior office associate for the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, and David Hanna, laboratory technician for the Department of Animal Science, were selected to receive this honor.
Gupton is sought by students for advice, faculty for knowledge and staff across the college for her support, shared a colleague.
Gupton is known by her colleagues to be willing to step outside of her assigned duties to help get the job done. She has helped calculate budgets, organize staff development opportunities and assists with graduation.
“She is diligent, detail oriented, knowledgeable, caring and always willing to lend a hand wherever it is needed,” said another colleague.
Students have been known to go to Gupton for advice and help. She cares about the health and success of all students and goes out of her way to support them, shared a colleague.
Like Gupton, Hanna is always willing to lend a hand and go above and beyond, shared a fellow employee.
He is a master at problem solving and fixing equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner, shared another.
During the pandemic, Hanna monitored incoming packages to ensure proper storage and was prompt to fixing freezers when a June snowstorm last year caused a massive power outage.
Another colleague shared Hanna is effective with communication and training students to work in the laboratory. He has lots of patience and allows the students to learn by doing.
