The University of Wyoming College of Agriculture, Life Sciences and Natural Resources (CALSNR) will host its first annual open house Saturday, Sept. 28.

The College of Agriculture, Life Sciences and Natural Resources Open House is part of UW’s Homecoming week, which begins Monday, Sept. 23. It will take place at the Laramie Research and Extension Center Hansen Teaching Arena, located at 470 Highway 230.

The open house is scheduled for 1-3 p.m., between the UW Homecoming parade and tailgating. The UW Food Science Club will provide hearty appetizers and drinks during the event, which is free and open to the public.

Alumni and community members are encouraged to attend the open house. The event will feature informational booths from departments and programs within CALSNR, allowing participants to learn more about current program focuses and reconnect with college faculty and staff.

Several departments will provide hands-on activities for children, including a station with different kinds of wool from the Department of Animal Science and a game from the Department of Veterinary Sciences where kids can pin organs on a felt cow.

Those that attend the event will be entered into a raffle for a gift basket, including a CALSNR travel mug, water bottle, fleece jacket, and a 2024-2025 Pistol and Pete calendar.

For more information about the open house, contact Hannah Korsmeyer, senior office associate within the CALSNR dean’s office, at hkorsmey@uwyo.edu.
