New Educator Joins UW Extension’s Converse County Office

The University of Wyoming Extension welcomes Jedidiah Hewlett as an agriculture and natural resources educator serving Converse County.

In 2020, Hewlett graduated from the University of Wyoming with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business and a minor in rangeland ecology and watershed management. He earned his master’s in agricultural economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2022.

Originally from Albany County, Hewlett participated in 4-H for over five years and was involved in club leadership as president for two years, among other roles.

Hewlett has worked as a seasonal ranch hand at several operations in Wyoming, Colorado, Oregon, and Nebraska. He has experience with working with livestock, general repair and maintenance, welding, operating heavy equipment, and harvesting crops.

“My background in production agriculture will provide a good foundation as I seek to assist folks with agricultural questions and concerns,” says Hewlett. “My formal training in agricultural economics will be indispensable as I serve as the ‘bridge’ between the University of Wyoming and the people of Converse County.”
