The University of Wyoming Extension welcomes Audrey Peters as the new 4-H youth development educator serving Uinta County.
Peters earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho in 2024. She majored in animal and veterinary science.
Most recently, she worked as the equine coordinator for Intermountain Feed in Lewiston, Idaho. In this position, she focused on teaching and community outreach, developing clinics dedicated to subjects like equine nutrition and first aid, equine dentistry, and farrier care. She served as the primary contact for equine health and nutrition questions, working directly with horse owners, youth, and community organizations.
Peters also worked as the equine feed and health manager for Rocking Y Stables and Arena. In this role she helped manage barn operations and organized clinics about horsemanship and other hands-on activities.
Peters was an active member of Idaho 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) throughout her youth. In 4-H, she showed livestock, winning the Grand Champion Market Steer award at the Western Idaho State Fair. She achieved FFA’s highest honor, the American Degree, which recognizes outstanding dedication to community service, leadership, and supervised agricultural experiences (SAE). She also qualified for nationals in the Agricultural Issues Career Development Event (CDE) competition.

“Education and outreach have been lifelong passions of mine,” says Peters. “Being a part of the 4-H community allows me to give back to some of the opportunities that helped shape me as a kid.”
She believes that agricultural education is most impactful when students are encouraged to ask questions and explore concepts through hands-on experiences.
Peters started her new role with UW Extension Monday, June 15. She can be reached at aziegenf@uwyo.edu.
